Bridge To Home faces funding shortfall, renames itself “Bridge Is Home”

Bridge To Home, Santa Clarita’s primary homelessness service provider, announced today a name change to “Bridge Is Home,” highlighting the fact that they are still facing a funding shortfall. While Councildude Cameron Smyth and County Supervisor Katheryn Barger pledge to provide gap funding, providing services year round will still be a challenge.

“It’s a real disappointment, but we need to find additional funding to keep the doors open” said board member Hunt Braly, while adjusting his gold chain, “these people need more from the community.”

Mayor Marsha McLean will reportedly oppose the effort for additional funding. “Frankly, these aren’t real people. They can’t vote, they’re not my constituents, they don’t belong here.”

Volunteers are currently being sought for the annual homeless count on January 22nd 2019, information and how to sign up can be found at https://www.theycountwillyou.org/
