SCV Water Board Runs for Kathye Armitage

The Santa Clarita Water Board has officially announced its candidacy for Kathye Armitage in the November 2020 election. Armitage, a Santa Clarita local, community leader, and grossly overqualified UCLA graduate has a strong background in the fields of public health and natural resources.

“Honestly, we usually look for the bare minimum in a board member,” says sitting Board President, Gary R. Martin. “This year,” he continued, “we figured we’d try our luck and shoot for an individual who actually knows what they’re talking about when it comes to these, um, very important local issues.” Another board member confirmed Martin’s statement that water is, in fact, important.

“We didn’t want to come on too strong, so I’m still technically in the race,” says Maria Gutzeit, the current incumbent for one of the Water Board Division 3 seats. “It’s just a formality, really.”
