For those of us who relocated to the Santa Clarita Valley in our early 20s, and now call ourselves “lifelong residents,” the media landscape of the area has been dominated by multiple single sources. Well today, that changes. We’re proud to announce Santa Clarita’s leading #2 source of news: The Advance Post Times!

Our publisher/owner/CEO (who may or may not be Tom Steyer with a fake mustache, we didn’t check) insisted upon starting a local newsish website for Santa Clarita. Somehow, it’s a tax write off.

Never one to look a gift-horse in the mouth, we grabbed the bull by the horns, and immediately became as confused as a basket full of puppies on a Ferris wheel.

We have scoured the depths of Craigslist and the campuses of CalArts and College of the Canyons East Campus for the best and brightest people who would return our calls. Exactly one month ago today, we met for our first staff meeting in the alley behind Bob’s Country Meats. And today, we launch!

Expect up to the decade news reports like local traffic, weather, news, sports, and more! If we can afford it, we’ll even send people to city council and school board meetings.
